- I am trying to install The Paper Tiger 2.0 and this error appears. "Error 1620, installation package could not open, check to see if this is a valid windows installer package."
Make sure your virus scanner and all other background programs are disabled before you begin the installation. You can check to see which programs are running by pressing CTRL-ALT-DELETE. If you are installing in Windows NT/2000/XP, you must install using the Administrator account. Please contact your system administrator if you need assistance.
- I am trying to install The Paper Tiger 2.0 and this error appears. Error 1607, cannot install Installshield scripting runtime.
This error usually occurs if you are installing without administrative rights. Log on to your machine using the administrator account then reinstall the software. Make sure your virus scanner and all other background programs are disabled before you begin the installation. Please contact your system administrator if you need assistance.
- I am trying to view the tutorial but when I put the CD in the CD-ROM drive, the Installshield Wizard window appears.
This window is appearing because Autoplay is enabled. If you click Cancel on the Installshield Wizard window the tutorial will proceed to play.
- I am running windows XP but when I start up The Paper Tiger 2.0, the screen is partially grayed out and does not completely appear. I find that the screen reappears as I move the mouse cursor over the grayed areas. What should I do?
You may need to adjust the acceleration settings for you graphics adapter. Close Paper Tiger. Now right click on your desktop then left click on properties, this will bring up the display properties. Click on the Settings tab then click on the Advanced button. Now click on the Troubleshoot tab and adjust the slider to "Disable cursor and bitmap accelerations. Use this setting to correct problems with the mouse pointer, or to correct problems with corrupt images." Click Apply then try re-opening Paper Tiger. If issues still persist, try moving the slider another notch to the left. If this resolved the display issues, it may indicate that your video drivers are outdated. Please contact your video card manufacturer for driver updates.
- I am trying to install The Paper Tiger 2.0 update but during the process I receive the message “Error 1706. No valid source could be found for product The Paper Tiger Single User Version 2.0. The Windows Installer cannot continue.” What should I do?
Insert your Paper Tiger 2.0 CD in your CD drive then restart Paper Tiger. Reinstall the update by clicking on Help|Check for Updates. If errors still persist or you have lost your Paper Tiger CD, please contact technical support.
- I recently reinstalled my Paper Tiger software
and now I cannot open my database. The error I am receiving is
"The version of Paper Tiger you are running must be upgraded before
you can use this database." I clicked on the Help menu but the
"Check for Updates" option is not there. What should I do?
On the earlier releases of Paper Tiger 2.0, a database must be open in order for the Help|Check for Updates option to appear. Open the sample database by clicking on File|Open Existing Single-User Database then click on Help|Check for Updates.
- I can't print labels on Avery 11137 (1/3 cut, 3 1/2" Worksavers). What's wrong?
This is a known bug and we're working to fix this problem. Meanwhile, you can use other labels such as Avery 11136 (1/5 cut, 2" Worksaver) or Pendaflex 1/5 cut, 2" laser inserts.
- I have data in another program that I want to import into The Paper Tiger. How do I do this?
You must first put the data into the correct format. The proper format for importing data into The Paper Tiger is 3 phrases inside quotes separated by commas: number, name, and keywords. For example:
"1","First Name","First Keywords"
"2","Second Name","Second Keywords"
and so on.Once you have exported the data from your other program and put it in this format, select "Import" from the File menu and choose "Text File". You can only import items into an empty location with a capacity of 0.
- I was told that I needed something
called Adobe Acrobat Reader on my computer in order to view a
.pdf file, how can I get this program and what does it cost?
You will need Adobe Acrobat Reader in order to view a type of file called a .pdf. To obtain a copy of Adobe Acrobat simply click on this icon and follow the instructions. Adobe Acrobat Reader is FREE and simple to download and setup on your computer.
- Can I sort the browser's grid by specific columns?
Yes. Move the cursor up to the column headers. Notice that the cursor icon changes to a downward arrow. Click on the column header, and the display will be resorted by the column. Click on the column again to reverse the order of the sorting.
